Old Sanctuary Last Service

Beginning of August 2004 Update:

Except for a few finishing touches and the landscaping, the exterior is completed.

Middle of August 2004 Update:

The landscaping and grass (the spray-on hydro-mulch) has been planted, but heavy rain a few days later appears to have washed much of the grass mulch away.

Here we can see much of the landscaping at the north end of the new parking lot.

After the 10:30 AM service on August 22, 2004, the sanctuary (the space containing the altar) and nave (the main part of the church where the congregation sits during services) furnishings were moved into the new building.

These pictures were taken during the move of the sanctuary. A temporary altar has been constructed using the top of the existing altar from the old sanctuary and a base that will be used in the existing sanctuary after it has been remodeled into a chapel.

These pictures show the altar area before the existing altar top was put in place. Prayer books, Hymnals, and song books from the old church have been dispersed into the new pew racks.

Here are some pictures of the nave taken from behind the altar. The existing lectern has been moved since the new altar and lectern will not be used until they are dedicated in the service on September 12th.
