Daughters of the King is a national religious order of Episcopal laywomen that was founded in New York in 1885. The members commit themselves to a Rule of Life based on prayer, service, and evangelism, their objective being the extension of Christ's Kingdom and the strengthening of the spiritual life of the church.

A three-month training period is required for membership. Any woman who is interested in becoming a Daughter of the King or who would like additional information may contact the president of the Woman of the Well Chapter by e-mail at ermine@austin.rr.com

Flower Delivery: Daughters of the King deliver altar flowers from regular services, weddings, funerals, and other services, as well as Christmas poinsettias and Easter lilies, to parishioners who are homebound or hospitalized, who are celebrating new life or other joyous occasions, or who need reassurance of the parish's concern.

Homebound Visitations: Visits to ill, infirm, grieving, or other homebound parishioners are made through coordination of the clergy by Lay Eucharistic Ministers, Daughters of the King, and other caregivers.

There are no money-raising projects, but members contribute to the Master's Fund, which helps support women training for careers in the Church. At the present time, four women in Austin are receiving support from the Master's Fund. The Daughters contribute voluntarily to the Self-Denial Fund, which helps support missionaries in Malawi, China, Uganda, Brazil and Egypt.
