Early January 2004 Update:

The
slab has been poured! The reinforcing rod that is
embedded in the concrete is not visible in these pictures. Again, the left picture is a view from the rear of the
existing church building, looking towards the north-east and the right picture
is a view looking south-east from the corner of Parkfield and Braker.

Here
are close-up shots of the south-west corner of the building showing what will be
the main entrance (and some of the reinforcing rod used throughout the slab) and
the same restroom plumbing shown in the mid-December view of the south corner of
the building.
Mid January 2004 Update:

The
plywood and plastic sheeting covering the slab is protecting the surface that
will be the final floor surface. The left view is from the south-east corner of
the new building, and the right view is from the north-east corner.

The
close up to the left shows the main entrance; the one to the right is of the
restroom plumbing in the south corner. These shots show that the wooden forms
for pouring the concrete have been removed, leaving the free standing slab.
