Early March 2004 Update:

The
framing for some of the outer walls is now in place. The open area in the left
picture is an opening for future expansion; the picture to the right shows the
sacristy and vesting area that will be behind the altar.

The
picture on the left shows what will be the main church entry. The picture on the
right shows the south corner of the building with the restroom plumbing.
Mid March 2004 Update:

The
main roof beams are put in place! Each of these main support beams is about 8
inches thick and 40 inches high, and appear to be made up of 22 laminated layers
of 2" x 8" boards. Click here
for more pictures of the raising and setting of these beams.

To
the left we see the church entry as one of the main roof support beams is moved
into position. Since these beams will be exposed in the church nave, they are
currently wrapped in a protective sheeting. To the right is a view of the south
corner of the building with the four main roof support beams in place.
Later March 2004 Update:

It's
beginning to look like a building! The secondary roof beams have been
placed in position and the outer wall insulation is beginning to be installed.

Here
are two views of the main entrance.
Detail
of the cupola area, showing the roof beams and the cupola base support. The roof
decking that is being installed will be the interior ceiling.
End of March 2004 Update:

More
of the
roof decking and outer wall insulation has been installed. The left picture
shows the SW corner of the building, with the main entrance to the right. The
picture to the right shows the NW corner, looking through the sacristy and
vesting areas, through the altar area, to the congregation seating.

The
picture to the left shows what will be the main entrance on the SE corner of the
building. The picture on the right shows the view from the main entrance into
the nave. The roof decking appears to be complete, with the cupola opening
temporarily covered.
