Comments on Adult Christian Education/Formation (e.g., include other topics or formats you are interested in):
1. Bible Study
2. Increase Adult Christian education to strenghtened adults spiritually and always be near to God.
3. Schedule not stable yet, but willing to begin attending
4. political issues on creation and the new intellectual design concepts as recentl spoken of in the recent cover story in Time mgazine and other creationist related topics and family issues. I am a daughter of a medical doctor and I believe in natural humanistic approaches to pastoral care and counseling. I think our church needs more discussions on how to help each other and others who won't attend church regularly.
5. It's all in the offering - and, we shouldn't apologise for asking the of the same. This is cost isn't the oblective if enrichment is the goal. Some things are priceless; as the value of a memory learned in a lesson. Or, a stitch in time saves nine - I always loved that. Think of this in the context of lives saved, and, Salvation becomes the wonderment of things as they unfold.
6. Bible study would be great!
7. in-home small groups
8. It would be a bruden on the children to do adult education. Furtyhermore there would have to be an apeal to both adults which is not very likely.
9. Some Bible study classes (interactive) could/should be led by members rather than clergy.
10. Offering something concurrent w/Children's Sunday school, or other activity for children might be beneficial.
11. HAVING THE CLAS IN THE PARISH HALL IS A GOOD IDEA. i WOULD LIK TO SEE A BRUSHUP ON CHURCH HISTORY.
12. I always enjoy all formats of Christian ed. As of late I have been a back slider. How Christianity related to our modern world. How to relize the spirit, and when the spirit is calling
13. Because I work on Sundays it is hard for me to attend Sunday classes. That is why the weekday or Saturday or before the 5:30 service would be great.
14. more topics such as the Celtic church and comparisons to other world religions. Bringing topics like the "Feminine in the Torah" to Sunday adult classes.
15. I have felt that every adult education I have attended was excellent.
16. Really enjoying Rabbi Monty! Sorry to disappoint on "evangelism," whatever that means. I do invite people to St. John's if I know they're church-less and would probably be interested. But to be realistic, introverts make terrible evangelists. I think the best kind of evangelism is the way you live your life.
17. I would like very much to have at least one Bible study class (1 Sunday, 1 weekday evening) IF the classes were interactive and I did not feel that I was being given only one person's perspective.
18. Suggest small groups with guest speakers.
19. Wednesday nights only
20. Bible courses which utilize the latest scholarship. Offer course which would invite and appeal to unchurched.
21. I don't attend adult Christian Education except for when there are guest speakers because for the most part I've found them to be pretty boring. The result of this though has been that I've taught the children's Sunday School for several years now. But it is also getting to be difficult considering the lack of children that show up on a regular basis.
22. I believe interactive "workshops" that apply Christiam education to every day life are important. Less what would Jesus do and more what would we do with Jesus' teachings as a guide.
23. 'Novel Theology'--reading a modern novel from a theological point of view. Watching a comtemporary film and discussing it theologically. Celtic Christianity studies
24. Would love a mid-week opportunity.
